Directory Submission Guide

Welcome to the Directory Submission page! Here you can efficiently find, evaluate, and submit your site to hundreds of web directories to boost your SEO efforts. This guide will walk you through every feature on the page and help you make the most of your directory submissions.

1. Browsing Directories

On the Directories Dashboard you’ll find over 458+ directories neatly organized by categories such as:

  • Business
  • Local
  • Tech
  • Health
  • Marketing

How to Browse by Category

  • Locate the Category filter dropdown at the top or side of the page.
  • Select a category (e.g., Local).
  • The directory list instantly updates to show only directories related to that category.

Example: Selecting "Local" filters directories like Yelp, Foursquare, and Google My Business.

The directory list shows the name, key metrics, and submission status for each directory.

2. Understanding Directory Information

Each directory includes important SEO metrics to help you decide where to submit:

| Metric | Description | Why it Matters | |------------------|---------------------------------------------|----------------------------------| | DR (Domain Rating) | A score (0-100) showing the directory’s backlink strength | Higher DR = more SEO value | | Backlinks | Number of external backlinks to the directory | Indicates directory popularity | | Authority Score| Overall quality and trust score of the site | Higher score suggests better SEO benefit |

Tip: Prioritize directories with DR above 30 and solid authority scores for maximum impact.

3. Submission Status Explained

Each directory shows your current submission status:

| Status | Meaning | |------------|-----------------------------------------------------| | Todo | You haven’t submitted your site to this directory yet. | | Skipped| You chose not to submit to this directory. | | Delayed| You plan to submit later (maybe waiting for more info). | | Completed| Submission finished successfully. |

Statuses help you track your progress and focus on directories still needing attention.

4. How to Submit

Follow these steps to submit your website to a directory:

Step 1: Open Submission Page

  • Click the directory name in the list.
  • This opens the directory’s official submission URL in a new tab.

Screenshot example: A popup or new tab showing the directory's submission form with fields to enter your site info.

Step 2: Submit Your Website

  • Fill out the required fields on the directory’s page (URL, business info, description, etc.).
  • Complete any verification or captcha steps.
  • Submit the listing.

Step 3: Update Submission Status

  • Return to the dashboard.
  • Click the status dropdown next to the directory and select Completed (or Skipped/Delayed if appropriate).

Step 4: Add Completion Details

  • Enter the URL where your listing appears (if available).
  • Add notes to record any important info (e.g., “Requires 48 hrs approval” or “Free listing with nofollow links”).
  • Upload a screenshot as proof of submission (e.g., confirmation page or live listing).

Screenshot example: A thumbnail preview of your uploaded screenshot visible in the directory entry.

5. Shared Notes

Benefit from the community’s collective experiences!

  • Below each directory, check the Shared Notes section.
  • Read tips, warnings, or success stories from other users.
  • Add your own notes to help future users (e.g., “Beware of aggressive upsells” or “Great for local SEO”).

6. Search & Filter

Easily find the perfect directories using filters:

  • Search Bar: Type keywords like “free”, “local”, or directory names to quickly locate specific directories.
  • Filter Options:
    • Free Listings – Show only directories with free submission options.
    • Paid Listings – Filter directories that require payment.
    • Demo Run – View directories where you can try a demo submission.

Example: Filtering for “Free Listings” + “Local” returns only free local directories, simplifying your workflow.

7. Best Practices for Successful Submissions

  • Complete profiles thoroughly: Provide accurate, consistent business info to improve approval chances.
  • Use unique descriptions: Avoid copying the same text across directories to prevent duplicate content issues.
  • Keep track of credentials: Use a password manager for directory login info if applicable.
  • Upload proof: Screenshots help verify your submissions and assist team members.
  • Respect directory rules: Follow each directory’s guidelines to avoid removal or penalties.
  • Prioritize high DR and authority: Focus on directories with better SEO metrics first for maximum benefit.
  • Leverage shared notes: Learn from others’ experiences to avoid common pitfalls.

Thank you for using the Directory Submission page. With organized browsing, clear status tracking, and community support, your directory submissions will be more effective and easier than ever!
